 Dr. Poteete Poteete is a native of Grainger County, Tennessee, where he attended Rutledge High School and graduated with honors in 2000. In 2005, Dr. Poteete graduated from The University of Tennessee with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education following with a Master's Degree in Instrumental Conducting in 2007. In 2012 Dr. Poteete completed his Education Specialist Degree in School Leadership and Administration from Lincoln Memorial University and his doctorate in 2016. Dr. Poteete has been active with music since the sixth grade till present performing on his main instrument the saxophone. He has worked with high school and middle school bands as well as music in an elementary setting. Also, Dr. Poteete has taught as a substitute teacher in a general classroom setting from grades Pre-K to Eighth Grade. Dr. Poteete has also worked at the post-secondary level as a graduate and undergraduate assistant with The University of Tennessee Pride of the Southland Marching Band, all three UT Concert Bands, and The Lady Vols Pep Band. Outside of school, Dr. Poteete tries to stay active in the arts including music and theater, and he enjoys spending time  with family and his close friends any chance he gets.
