I graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1993 with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art and a minor in Art Education.   I also attended Tusculum College in the fall of 2006 and student taught in the Spring of 2007.

After graduating from UT in 1993, I decided not to become a teacher at that time and ended up doing a number of different things including moving home, marrying my high school sweetheart, and having two wonderful children!  I continued to be very interested in art and worked on many artistic projects for individuals as well as for my church. When my oldest child started Kindergarten at EastView, I decided that I would like to be an Art Teacher and I went back to school for a year at Tusculum College and received my teaching certificate.  I took a job teaching Art at Newport Grammar School in Newport, Tennessee.

I began working at EastView in the Spring of 2010 as a part-time teacher in the Gifted Program.  In the fall of 2010 I returned to EastView to be an assistant teacher in the Special Education Department.  Then, in the spring of 2011, I began filling in for the EastView Art Teacher, Mrs. Pat Brady.  When Mrs. Brady retired in the spring of 2012, I was thrilled to become the official art teacher at this wonderful school!
