NWEA Testing NWEA is a universal screener that is administered to students three times a year to measure achievement and growth in Reading, Math, and Language. However, students in K-1 do not take the Language section and the test is read aloud to these students. The first test was taken in August of this school year. The second test session will be taken by all students in the Greeneville City School system in grades K-8 during the first and second weeks of December. This online test is used as a formative assessment to help teachers plan for instruction and monitor student progress. Teachers can also use the data to identify students who may need RTI (intervention) or tutoring. These tests do not impact grades on report cards. Family reports with student information will be sent home with the 3rd nine weeks report card.
